We are pleased to share Vision Action’s Annual Report and Financial Statements for the year ending 31 March 2025. Reflecting a year of resilience, adaptation and continued impact across our programmes in Sub-Saharan Africa. Despite a challenging global funding environment, the report highlights how Vision Action has continued to strengthen access to affordable eye care for children, teachers and communities in Ethiopia, Ghana, Sierra Leone and Zambia, while laying the foundations for sustainable growth in the years ahead.
A year of impact and learning
During 2024/25, Vision Action:
-
Expanded school-based eye health and Primary Eye Care services, reaching tens of thousands of children and teachers through screening, treatment and referrals.
-
Continued to invest in training and capacity-building for local eye health professionals, strengthening national systems and long-term sustainability.
-
Maintained essential services in complex contexts, while making difficult but responsible decisions to protect the charity’s future.
-
Responded to funding pressures by diversifying income streams and developing a refreshed fundraising strategy.
The report also marks an important period of organisational transition, including the introduction of a Co-Chief Executive Officer model, designed to strengthen leadership, resilience and strategic focus.
Financial transparency
The Annual Report provides a full overview of Vision Action’s finances, governance and risk management. While the charity recorded a modest deficit during the year, this represents a significant improvement on the previous financial year, reflecting careful cost control and strategic planning.
